Residents in Fenland are being offered assistance with increasing expenses and managing their budgets. A series of cost of living fairs are scheduled to occur in Whittlesey, Wisbech, and Chatteris later this month. These complimentary drop-in sessions will provide guidance on managing energy costs, available benefits and support, and potential grants. Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council are jointly organizing these events. These sessions, which will include free tea and coffee, are scheduled to occur between 10:00 and 13:00 GMT at the following locations: Susan Wallwork, Fenland District Council’s Conservative portfolio holder for communities, stated: “We know the cost of living remains a challenge and this is a chance to pick up some tips useful to everyone. There will be help and information for those who are really struggling as well as handy tips relevant for all households and details of support people might be entitled to and missing out on. We welcome everyone to come along.” According to the government’s indices of deprivation 2019, Fenland was identified as the most deprived district within Cambridgeshire.
