Ross County manager Don Cowie informed BBC Scotland that he believed his team performed “excellent” in the first half. He noted that they had “a real opportunity to get a second” goal but failed to convert it, adding that conceding “right on half-time… changes the game.” Cowie stated, “I’ve spoken to the officials – we were over the five minutes [of added time].” He recounted that “The referee puts the whistle to his mouth, and his words are he’s thought about blowing the whistle, but didn’t. He felt Hibs had an opportunity to attack.” Despite this, Cowie accepted responsibility, saying, “What happens after that is us and we take responsibility. We should never have conceded in that moment.” The manager expressed his dissatisfaction, remarking, “We give Hibs two opportunities to score from a penalty, and it’s not acceptable.” He also commented that “It just didn’t quite fall for us,” explaining that while “we’re pushing to find an equaliser,” the team subsequently made “a poor clearance.” Cowie reflected that his side “were in a great place to get three points today.” He emphasized the need to avoid allowing “the opposition get in front with our decision making,” as this forces them “to chase the game and that plays into the opposition’s hands.” Looking ahead, Cowie affirmed, “We’ll dust ourselves down and make sure we’re ready for the game in Dingwall next Saturday.”
