Newcastle United centre-back Dan Burn has stated that the Magpies have not yet delivered a “complete performance” during the current season. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Burn commented: “Since the gaffer has come in, we have had a style of play that we go for and it has worked well for us. We just probably haven’t had that complete performance yet this season.” Burn further elaborated on the team’s potential, stating: “I think we have been good in spells, which is a positive. Once we do put a complete performance together, I think we will be flying.” He also addressed the league standings, adding: “The table is tight. We don’t want to be in the position we are in now and I think takes you up to eighth or something, so I don’t think anyone should be reading too much into that.” Regarding the team’s effort, Burn remarked: “You can see from our performance against Chelsea that everyone is putting the effort in and it is just fine margins.”
