A charitable organization is providing crucial assistance to vulnerable people in Swindon over the Christmas period, offering complimentary hot food and fostering a sense of community. Christmas Care is extending this support to individuals facing homelessness, hunger, or isolation from Tuesday to Friday. The charity has consistently delivered food and care to hundreds of people throughout the festive season since 1988. John Jensen, of Christmas Care, stated: “We are there to provide food, warmth, safety and companionship.” Christmas Care has indicated a need for additional volunteers to make the project possible, and also requires donations of food, drinks, and festive treats. Guests will be able to receive a full English breakfast, a hot home-cooked lunch, and an early evening snack at the charity’s base at The Haven Day Centre, located on Queen’s Drive. Mr. Jensen commented: “Christmas can be a lonely time, especially for those who are homeless or who do not have friends or family nearby.” He added: “We rely on the amazing, generous support of Swindon people. “We appreciate anyone who can offer some time to make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate.”” For updates, follow BBC Wiltshire on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
