An officer of the police force has admitted guilt to a charge of drink driving during proceedings at Bradford Magistrates’ Court. Abdul Iqbal, aged 29, residing on Russel Street in Dewsbury, was apprehended in the Calder Grove vicinity of Wakefield, found to have 66 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres in his bloodstream. Mr. Iqbal also entered a guilty plea for failing to provide driver identification on August 5. Mr. Iqbal’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 16 at Bradford Crown Court. Separately, another active police officer, who is not connected to Mr. Iqbal, previously appeared before the court. This officer, Aisha Iqbal, 27, of Buxton Place, Wakefield, faces charges of conspiring to pervert the course of justice, with the alleged period spanning from May 17, 2023, to October 31, 2023. Ms. Iqbal was not represented by a solicitor but communicated her intention to plead not guilty. Her appearance at Bradford Crown Court is also set for December 16. Both officers have been placed on suspension from their duties.
