The daughter of Mohamed Al Fayed has been acquitted of charges related to robbing her brother of his mobile phone, following the prosecution’s decision not to present evidence. Camilla Fayed, aged 39, had previously entered a plea of not guilty to the accusation of robbing Omar Fayed of his iPhone, valued at £1,900. This alleged incident occurred on May 18, 2020, within the gym located at the family’s Grade I listed property, Barrow Green Court, situated near Oxted in Surrey. She faced a single charge of robbery, along with her husband Mohamad Esreb, 44, Matthew Littlewood, 35, and Andrew Bott, 52, all connected to the identical alleged event. Mr. Esreb and Mr. Bott had pleaded not guilty to the charge during a hearing held in May, while Mr. Littlewood also denied the accusation at the commencement of a hearing at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday. A trial had been scheduled to commence in February of the upcoming year; however, the prosecution presented no evidence against any of the defendants during a hearing at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday. Prosecutor Eloise Marshall KC informed the court, stating: “I advised the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) on quite a number of issues and ultimately the decision was made due to a combination of factors.” She further indicated that challenges existed concerning “material provided directly from the complainant himself”. Judge Patricia Lees declared: “In those circumstances then the court will enter not guilty verdicts in respect of each defendant.” She continued: “As far as they are concerned they are discharged from the court.” Ms. Fayed, whose address is Park Lane, central London, was not present at Wednesday’s hearing. However, Mr. Esreb, also residing on Park Lane, Mr. Littlewood, from Haydock Road, Colburn, North Yorkshire, and Mr. Bott, of Coppice Wood, County Durham, all participated remotely via a video link. Mohamed Al Fayed, the former owner of Harrods, passed away last year at the age of 94. Subsequent to his death, accusations surfaced alleging that the deceased businessman had sexually abused women, many of whom were employees at Harrods.
