Ross County manager Don Cowie provided his assessment to BBC Scotland following the match, stating, “It was a really even first half.” He expressed satisfaction with the team’s “performance away from home,” noting, “We did a lot of things really well and looked a threat.” Cowie added that “the challenge was to build on that.” He mentioned anticipating Dundee United’s quick start in the second half, “shooting into their fans,” and felt his team “dealt with the first 10 minutes of that well.” However, he found it “really disappointing” to “concede the first goal just after that.” Cowie articulated his high standards, saying, “I always expect more, demand more.” He acknowledged that “you concede goals, it’s part of football,” but emphasized that “it’s about how you react, deal with adversity and we didn’t do that well enough today.” The manager also highlighted recent defensive improvements, stating, “I’ve seen really good signs over the last few weeks in terms of how we defend.” Despite this, he was “really disappointed to come away losing three goals today.” Cowie further commented that the match served as “another reminder that you’ve just got to keep going even when the game’s going against you, because to concede a goal again in stoppage time – at that point you’ve just got to make sure it finishes 2-0.” Regarding the team’s poor away record, Cowie confirmed, “It’s an issue because we’ve not stopped that run yet, and it’ll always be an issue until we we deal with it.” He concluded by stating, “Every away game is an opportunity to win and try and get that monkey off our back until we do that.”
