Two new legal complaints have been initiated against Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing the music executive of sexual assault. Both lawsuits, filed in New York, include allegations from men who were minors at the time of the purported assaults. In one instance, the alleged victim was 10 years old at the time. The second complaint claims Mr. Combs assaulted a male teenager who was auditioning for the popular MTV reality program “Making the Band,” which the rapper produced. In a statement provided to the BBC, representatives for Mr. Combs asserted that he “never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone – man or woman, adult or minor.” Over two dozen lawsuits have been brought against Mr. Combs in recent months, presenting claims such as rape, individuals being drugged, assaults on minors, intimidation, and sexual extortion. Furthermore, the rapper is confronting federal criminal accusations related to an alleged sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. He has entered a plea of not guilty to these charges. Attorney Tony Buzbee initiated the two legal actions submitted on Monday. Mr. Buzbee has stated that he represents over 100 purported victims and intends to submit numerous additional lawsuits against Mr. Combs in the upcoming weeks. The initial lawsuit, submitted without identifying the plaintiff, asserts that Mr. Combs assaulted the individual in 2005 when the plaintiff was 10 years old and pursuing a career as an actor and rapper. To aid their son’s aspirations in the entertainment field, the boy’s parents sought assistance from an industry consultant, who recommended a trip to New York for discussions with music industry figures. According to the legal filing, during this journey, the consultant arranged an “audition” with Mr. Combs, who then requested a private encounter with the boy. The complaint further states that the consultant accompanied the boy to Mr. Combs’ hotel room and subsequently left him unaccompanied. The boy presented several rap performances for Mr. Combs, who reportedly informed him of his potential to achieve stardom. The complaint details that Mr. Combs inquired about the boy’s dedication to his aspirations, to which the boy responded he would “do anything.” During this encounter, a third individual reportedly provided the boy with a soda that caused him to feel “funny,” though the plaintiff initially attributed these sensations to excitement from the meeting, as per the lawsuit. The rapper is subsequently accused of removing his clothing and instructing the boy to engage in a sex act. When the boy resisted, Mr. Combs purportedly assaulted him. The plaintiff asserts in the complaint that he became unconscious and later awoke experiencing pain with his trousers unfastened. The lawsuit indicates that Mr. Combs warned the boy that if he disclosed the incident, his parents would be harmed. The second lawsuit involves an unidentified male who claims he was sexually assaulted by Mr. Combs in 2008. This plaintiff was 17 years old at the time, participating in auditions for the MTV reality competition that Mr. Combs produced. During different stages of the audition process, Mr. Combs reportedly questioned the plaintiff about his approach to scenarios involving sexual pressure. The lawsuit alleges that Mr. Combs and his bodyguard subsequently compelled the teenager to perform sexual acts. Mr. Combs is presently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, subsequent to his arrest in September on federal charges. Bail was refused, and he is scheduled to remain in detention until his trial in May. He has refuted all accusations leveled against him. His representatives stated, “Mr Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process.” A conviction for racketeering could result in a life sentence.
