Twenty firefighters responded to a significant fire at a recycling facility, located adjacent to a leisure and retail complex. The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service received an alert at 05:00 GMT concerning a waste fire on Ling Road in Poole, close to Tower Park. The incident required the deployment of breathing apparatus, eight fire engines, and a water carrier, following initial reports that mattresses and furniture were alight. Crews have successfully extinguished the flames. However, members of the public have been advised to avoid the immediate vicinity, and local residents have been instructed to keep their windows closed. Fire personnel remain on site to conduct dampening down procedures and provide assistance to the facility’s staff.
