The 2024-25 Celtic Challenge is set to commence next month with a Scottish derby featuring Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors. This cross-border competition, which includes six teams—Ireland’s Wolfhounds and Clovers, alongside Welsh sides Gwalia Lightning and Brython Thunder—will begin with a match at Hive Stadium on Friday, 20 December, at 19:35 GMT. For its third edition this year, the tournament’s format has been expanded to encompass 10 rounds of games, with participating teams now scheduled to play both home and away fixtures against each other. The return fixture between the two Scottish teams is scheduled for 15 February at Scotstoun. In the previous season, Edinburgh secured second place within the six-team group, whereas Glasgow concluded the season at the bottom of the standings without registering a victory.
