Police Scotland has confirmed that two young males face charges related to firework offences following disturbances in Glasgow on Bonfire Night. A 20-year-old and a 17-year-old were apprehended after incidents of disorder occurred in Pollokshields on November 5. The police force reported that these disturbances involved groups of young individuals launching projectiles, such as fireworks and bricks, towards public property, police personnel, and vehicles. Authorities stated that efforts are ongoing to identify additional individuals who participated in the events. Police Scotland noted that no officers sustained injuries, but the occurrences did generate considerable concern among residents in and near Pollokshields. Chief Superintendent Lynn Ratcliff commented, “In the wake of the disorder we experienced that everyone responsible would be brought to justice and that remains the case.” She further indicated that officers are urging any members of the public possessing evidence or information to assist with the inquiry by coming forward. Individuals holding personal video or photographic evidence are able to submit it through the police’s Major Incident Public Portal.
