Lewis Travis, captain of Blackburn Rovers, and defender Harry Pickering are both facing an extended absence from play due to injuries. Travis has participated in 20 Championship matches for the club this season. Head coach John Eustace indicated that Travis, aged 27, might be unavailable for as long as six weeks due to a hamstring injury. Pickering, 25, is expected to be out for a period of eight to 12 weeks following a scan on his knee. Speaking to the club’s website, Eustace stated, “Trav’s going to be missing for six weeks and it could have been a lot worse.” He added, “Harry’s going to be a little bit longer because he’s got a knee problem and is going to be between eight to 12 weeks. That’s a big blow to us because his performances this season have been very, very good.” This season, Travis has featured in 21 matches across all competitions for Rovers, completing the entire 90 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Millwall. Pickering, conversely, who has played 16 times this campaign, was substituted in the 76th minute of that same match. The defeat against Millwall concluded Blackburn’s run of six consecutive victories. Despite this, the team maintains its fifth position in the Championship table, holding a two-point advantage over West Bromwich Albion, who are in seventh place.
