Omer Riza, who took on the role of interim boss for Cardiff City at the start of the season, has expressed uncertainty, stating he “doesn’t know” if he will continue as the Bluebirds’ manager through the international break. Following a period of strong performances, Cardiff has experienced defeats in their most recent two league matches, a development Riza concedes might affect his position. The temporary manager, who has received backing from several Cardiff players, engaged in discussions with the club’s owners last weekend, prior to their 2-1 victory against Norwich City. Nevertheless, no permanent agreement has been finalized for Riza to continue in his role, and he acknowledges being unaware of the club’s intentions, particularly following the two recent defeats. Addressing inquiries about his future, he informed BBC Sport Wales: “Regarding what it looks like, I don’t know. It’s every international break is a chance to bring in another manager. “We have always said that when you are winning it’s more difficult, when you are losing it’s easier.”It depends what the club wants to do moving forward, only they can answer it.”What I’m worried about is not winning games. The pressure is there if you don’t win games and then the opportunity is there for anything to happen. I’m not going to say whether I want the job, you already know the answer to that.” Regarding a timeframe for a permanent replacement for the former manager Erol Bulut, who was dismissed in September, Riza commented: “They are going to make a decision eventually, you just have to wait.”
