A man who passed away following a bicycle collision has been characterized by his family as a devoted father who consistently supported them “through thick and thin”. Ozzy Savage, aged 55, sustained injuries when his bicycle was involved in a collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van. The incident occurred on 16 December at the intersection of Bucknall New Road and Bucknall Old Road in Stoke-on-Trent. He was transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital for medical attention, where he subsequently died on Wednesday. His family, in a statement honoring Mr. Savage, who was previously known as John Walker, stated that he was a “loving father, brother and uncle”. They added, “He loved the outdoors and nature. He was always about on his push bike and he was always there for friends and family through thick and thin, whenever anyone needed help.” The family concluded, “We are sad that he has passed but his memory will live on.” Staffordshire Police confirmed that their investigation into the incident is ongoing and appealed for any witnesses or individuals with relevant footage to come forward.
