British heavyweight Derek Chisora is scheduled to compete against Sweden’s Otto Wallin in Manchester on Saturday, February 8. The two boxers are set to appear at a news conference in Manchester on Thursday. Chisora, a seasoned fighter with 48 professional bouts, will reach his 41st birthday six weeks prior to the event at the Co-op Live arena. The London-born boxer, who secured a unanimous points victory against Joe Joyce in July, has hinted at his impending retirement from the sport. Chisora stated, “I’ve had some amazing nights in Manchester, both in the ring and in the warehouse raves, so it was only right I had one last dance up north.” The Zimbabwe-born athlete began his professional career in 2007. He has accumulated 13 professional losses, which include three defeats to Tyson Fury and a world-title challenge against Vitali Klitschko in 2012. He further commented, “Come 8 February I’m going to be bringing war to Wallin, be ready for my penultimate showreel knockout.” Previously, Chisora had been in discussions to fight Jarrell Miller, but that bout was canceled due to a disagreement between the American boxer and his promoter. Wallin, aged 34, holds a professional record of 27 wins and two losses. In 2019, he caused a cut on Tyson Fury that required 47 stitches before ultimately losing on points, and he was defeated by Anthony Joshua via stoppage last year. Wallin stated, “I know I’m walking into the lion’s den, but I will be ready for it and ready to get the victory.” The main undercard fight at the 23,500-capacity indoor arena will feature British light-heavyweights Willy Hutchinson and Zach Parker.
