Emergency repair operations have commenced in Shoreham-by-Sea after a sewage leak occurred. Southern Water issued an apology for the inconvenience resulting from a ruptured wastewater pipe on Saturday and Sunday along Victoria Road within the town. The utility provider cautioned residents about a significant deployment of tankers and machinery in the vicinity as the repair work proceeds. Southern Water announced that engineers plan to reline the compromised pipe on Victoria Road to avert subsequent occurrences. The firm stated its commitment to providing ongoing updates throughout the duration of the work. This current leak occurs after a previous incident, which has since been resolved, involving sewage spillage onto Albion Street in Southwick due to a mechanical malfunction on Saturday, 27 October. The company offered an apology for that issue on Monday, noting that crews had labored overnight to remove the waste and rectify the fault.
