The conservation efforts of a nine-year-old individual, who is also a record-breaker, have been acknowledged by the charitable organization established in remembrance of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Aneeshwar Kunchala, from Warrington, received a Diana Award, which cited his “inspiring millions” through his television documentaries and YouTube content. The recognition also highlighted his achievements of Guinness World Records for being the youngest documentary presenter for his series ‘Six Ways to Save Our Planet’ and for being the youngest newspaper columnist. The young student expressed that he was “honoured to get the award,” noting his status as one of the youngest individuals to receive it. Furthermore, his recent cooperative work with NASA and the RSPCA was also acknowledged. The Diana Award represents the most significant commendation for young people who have made exceptional contributions to social action and humanitarian endeavors. This award is endorsed by both of her sons, HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Sussex. In 2022, at the age of seven, Aneeshwar reached the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, following judge David Walliams’ discovery of his nature-themed videos. He has also served as a wildlife presenter for the BBC alongside fellow wildlife presenter Steve Backshall. Their program, named ‘Steve and Aneeshwar Go Wild’, was broadcast on CBeebies, the BBC’s children’s channel. The young student initiated his conservation activities at the age of four. He recounted that his “world was shattered” upon being shown a deceased whale filled with plastic by his teacher. The schoolboy further stated: “I realised I need to help these creatures affected by our actions.” For more content, listeners can access the best of BBC Radio Manchester on Sounds and follow BBC Manchester on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
