Dungannon Swifts manager Rodney McAree expressed his disappointment following his team’s 1-0 loss to Larne at Stangmore Park, attributing the defeat to what he described as a “soft” goal. The decisive goal was scored by Mark Randall, who capitalized on the Swifts’ failure to clear the ball from the penalty area. This defeat marks the second consecutive league game lost by Dungannon. McAree noted his frustration that his side was narrowly beaten for the second week in a row, recalling how Joel Cooper had exploited a defensive error to secure a victory for Linfield against the Swifts in the previous match. Speaking to BBC Sport NI, McAree stated, “We’ve lost two games now 1-0 and we’ve a great group of players and we’ve come on leaps and bounds but the two goals we’ve conceded is the reason why Linfield and Larne are where they are and will be because they don’t concede goals like that.” He further elaborated on the team’s performance, saying, “We’ve conceded a soft one tonight, we hold our hands up. we know we’ve made a mistake but if we eradicate those mistakes, we know we’ll be a better side again and that’s the challenge. If we don’t make that mistake, we get something out of the game because the lads really put a shift in; they can’t do too much more.” Post navigation Doncaster Rovers’ Richard Wood Sidelined for Three Months After Ankle Surgery Mansfield Manager Clough Seeks ‘Break’ Following Third Consecutive 1-0 Defeat
