A customer initiated a fundraising effort, collecting more than £400 for Amerton Farm, located near Stafford, following damage sustained during the severe winds of Storm Darragh. The farm’s marquee, intended for its scheduled Breakfast with Santa events over the weekend, was compromised by powerful gusts. Amy Flint, a director at the farm, issued an apology to patrons via social media, assuring them that the team was undertaking “everything we can” while ensuring the safety of both personnel and livestock. Subsequently, Nicky Fox, a customer residing in Biddulph, opted to establish a crowdfunding page, stating that a video she viewed “pulled on her heart strings.” Mrs. Fox, a frequent visitor to the farm with her two children, expressed her desire to assist the establishment, emphasizing that independent small businesses such as Amerton depend on patronage during the holiday season. She remarked, “I saw the video and I just wanted to do something to help a little bit, as nobody needs to be panicking this close to Christmas, and Christmas is probably one of their biggest events.” She further commented, “Just going there for a couple of hours at the weekend makes the children’s day and the Christmas displays make even more special.” The farm conveyed that it was “so shocked and overwhelmed” by Mrs. Fox’s benevolent act and extended gratitude to all contributors. They also confirmed that their team had diligently worked, ensuring that events would proceed as scheduled this weekend. Mrs. Fox aims to collect an additional £350 before transferring the funds.
