Liverpool’s head coach, Arne Slot, stated that his team’s ability to draw upon their past experiences in title races and cup competitions is beneficial for sustaining their current performance level. Even though the Reds hold a nine-point advantage over Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League standings, Slot indicated that his squad remains “feet on the ground,” avoiding complacency. Regarding their standing in both the league and European competitions, Slot commented, “It is important,” adding, “But it is also the culture of this club.” He further explained, “For us, it’s not a dead-special thing to be top of the league and Champions League. This team and players are used to competing for every trophy. It helps that they have experienced this.” Slot also noted the benefit of past instances where the team “have competed and then come up short.” He emphasized, “They know it’s a long season and to win the league against Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City – because they are who I see as a our main competitors – means they will have to be on top of their game for nine or 10 months.” He concluded by warning, “If you are down for just one second then those clubs show up.”
