Cyclist Dies Following Collision with Car

A cyclist has died following a collision involving a car. The incident took place on Monday at 07:40 GMT on the A688 at Binchester Blocks, an area located near Bishop Auckland in County Durham. A BMW 5 Series vehicle was involved in the crash. The individual, identified as a man in his 30s, was airlifted to Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital. Despite receiving medical attention, he later passed away, as confirmed by Durham Police. The road remained closed for several hours after the event. Investigators are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
