Authorities have determined that a flat explosion in Clackmannanshire, which resulted in one fatality, involved no suspicious circumstances. Graham Green, aged 50, was present inside the residence located at Kellie Place, Alloa, when the explosion occurred around 18:00 on October 6. Additionally, two men, aged 72 and 19, along with a 49-year-old woman, sustained injuries and received medical attention at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Following the event, a multi-agency investigation was initiated; however, Police Scotland has since verified that no criminal activity took place. Mr. Green was declared deceased at the site. Initially, his death was categorized as “unexplained.” Nevertheless, a spokesperson for the force stated: “Following a post-mortem examination his death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.” Subsequent to the explosion, a representative from the gas distribution company SGN affirmed that the occurrence was “not related to our gas network.” This gas network encompasses external pipes and pipelines that connect to the gas meters of individual properties. It is believed that gas could still be the cause of the blast, though not in connection with these external piping systems. Mr. Green’s family expressed their condolences on Facebook and extended gratitude to the emergency services personnel who responded in the aftermath of the incident. The event was recorded by CCTV cameras and characterized by a restaurant manager as “like a sonic boom.” The Health and Safety Executive was also a participant in the inquiry.
