Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie stated that the club is “working every day to find the consistency we need.” Under manager Ange Postecoglou, the team has delivered impressive displays this season, such as the notable 4-0 victory against Manchester City on Saturday. However, they have also faced difficulties in matches where a win was anticipated, experiencing defeats against Crystal Palace and Ipswich, both currently positioned in the Premier League relegation zone. Prior to Thursday’s Europa League match against Italian club Roma, Udogie remarked, “It’s been difficult because we haven’t really found the right consistency.” He added, “We’re working every day. We’re coming from a big win last week and in the game tomorrow we will try and build the right momentum.” Earlier in the current season, Postecoglou garnered attention for asserting that he “always” secures a trophy during his second season with a club. Tottenham has not claimed a major piece of silverware in 18 years, with their last triumph being the League Cup in the 2007-08 season. When questioned about Tottenham’s ambition to conclude their extended period without a trophy, Udogie responded, “We all want to win something. We try and win every competition we are in.” He further elaborated on the current campaign, stating, “This season is the second season together so we understand each other, we know the gaffer better and the staff. This is the big difference. We have more confidence in our ability.”
