South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb), which provides coverage across Sussex, Kent, Surrey, and north-east Hampshire, has issued a call for individuals to volunteer their time to assist its frontline teams. These Community Resilience Support Volunteers will primarily be responsible for operating one of the trust’s welfare vehicles, distributing beverages to staff members, and aiding in the delivery of equipment. Sue Orchard, Secamb’s community resilience manager, commented: “This is an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate members of the community.” Prospective applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid UK driving licence, and reside within a 30-minute travel distance of the trust’s ambulance bases located in Medway, Brighton, Chichester, or Banstead. Volunteers are expected to dedicate a minimum of five hours per month and commit to a two-year term. Ms Orchard further stated that the position “will make a real difference to colleagues and patients every shift”. The deadline for applications is 10 December.
