BBC Sport pundit Nedum Onuoha regularly provides his analysis and viewpoints on Premier League clubs, and this week he addressed audience inquiries. In response to a question from Anthony, who asked, “Can Ruben Amorim turn Bruno Fernandes into the type of leader that Manchester United have had in the past?”, Nedum stated: “For Erik ten Hag to make him captain, it means he was doing something right on a day-to-day basis.” He further explained that “Leading by example is subjective because your perspective differs when you are either in or outside of the club,” noting that public observation of players is limited to “a few hours a week, so we don’t see the rest of what they are doing.” Onuoha continued by suggesting that Amorim possesses a thorough understanding of Fernandes and how to integrate him into his tactical approach. He anticipated that Fernandes would undoubtedly embrace these directives and aim to replicate his performance from “previous seasons.” Onuoha expressed confidence that Fernandes would strive “to lead by example in terms of output under this new manager” and would be “desperate to learn more things from him to improve his game.” He concluded by remarking that since “they will both want to win trophies, so it could be a match made in heaven.” Nedum Onuoha’s comments were made in an interview with BBC Sport’s Katie Stafford.
