A new initiative providing financial support for technology concepts targeting businesses in Jersey is set to commence. Digital Jersey announced that the CXTech programme project has allocated £500,000 in grants for individuals proposing technological solutions capable of enhancing business productivity and refining customer experiences within the island. Digital Jersey further stated that this scheme, forming part of the broader Impact Jersey programme and financed by the government, will be introduced on 7 November. It will feature a submission period of nine weeks for proposals. Following the closure of this period on 15 January, independent judges will evaluate the submitted ideas, according to Digital Jersey. Tony Moretta, chief executive of Digital Jersey, described the project—which marks the third launch via the Impact Jersey programme—as a “real opportunity” for individuals to contribute a “significant part” in assisting local businesses. Kirsten Morel, the Economic Development Minister, noted the presence of “rising pressure on productivity” in Jersey. He articulated: “We know that, if we want to maintain or enhance our standard of living in Jersey, we need to increase our productivity – and this latest Impact Jersey programme provides a really exciting opportunity to achieve that.”
