Crystal Palace’s Daichi Kamada Situation and January Transfer Requirements

Crystal Palace is in clear need of Daichi Kamada to reach his full potential. The Japanese international has evidently faced difficulties adapting to the Premier League, with the precise reasons remaining elusive. Manager Oliver Glasner recruited Kamada, recognizing his strengths and his understanding of the system Glasner intended to implement at Palace; however, this strategy has yet to yield the desired results. Despite contributing a couple of goals, a harsh sending off against Fulham has further impeded his progress, and Kamada himself is undoubtedly aware of his underwhelming performance this season. A challenge for Crystal Palace is their inability to accommodate a player requiring an extended period to settle, yet Kamada will undeniably need time to adjust to the country, the league, and South London. Consequently, patience is deemed essential, even amidst its limited availability. The team’s current roster is notably thin, with the club’s most significant challenge being the replacement of a player of Michael Olise’s caliber. This situation has adversely affected Kamada, as he has been widely perceived as Olise’s successor, thereby placing considerable pressure on him. The midfield against Fulham notably lacked experience, and while defensive options are expected to be adequate with returning players, attacking options remain restricted.
