Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie stated the team must “get back to what we have been doing well” ahead of their Premiership match against Hibs on Tuesday night. The Dons, currently second in the league standings, three points adrift of leaders Celtic, aim to resume their winning streak after a 2-1 defeat to St Mirren at the weekend. This loss marked the end of the Pittodrie side’s undefeated run in the league season. “That is what good teams do – when they have a knockback they respond,” captain Shinnie remarked. He recalled their recovery following “the heavy defeat to Celtic (in the League Cup)” and insisted, “we have to do it again now. The majority of the season has been very good so far – we need to remember that and we need to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible.” He further emphasized the need to “get back to what we have been doing well because I thought we lost that a little bit on Saturday. We didn’t look our normal selves at times.” Aberdeen’s objective will be to exacerbate the difficulties for Hibs, who currently sit at the bottom of the league standings, having secured only one victory in their initial 13 league fixtures. Addressing Hibs’ struggles, Shinnie commented, “It is a tough position they have found themselves in but they have had opportunities to win the games.” He elaborated, “It has been late goals – Dundee United they lost two late on, the Edinburgh derby they lost a late goal. Had they held out in a few games they would be a lot higher up the table.” Shinnie cautioned, “We need to be very wary, they have got good players, everyone knows that.” He concluded by reiterating his team’s situation: “We have had a knock but the majority of the season has been very good so it is trying to get that momentum back for us.” Post navigation Leicester Manager Amandine Miquel Addresses Tierney’s Injury and West Ham Match Significance Club Icons Transition to Managerial Roles
