The family of a man who died in a hit-and-run collision on Sunday has issued a tribute, referring to him as their “beloved dad and papa.” Authorities identified the pedestrian as James Craig, a 70-year-old resident of Hamilton. He was struck around 00:40 on Quarry Street within the South Lanarkshire town. Emergency responders arrived at the location, but Mr. Craig was declared deceased there. It is suspected that a dark-coloured Mercedes car was involved in the collision. Police Scotland stated that investigations into the event are continuing. In a statement, the family of Mr. Craig expressed their grief, stating: “Our beloved Dad and Papa was a bright light in our lives so full of love, energy, and kindness. “It’s hard to believe he’s been taken from us far too soon.”The messages and support from family and friends have brought us comfort in this painful time.”“Your kind words mean so much as we remember the wonderful man he was and the love he brought to us all.” Police Scotland indicated that they are conducting multiple inquiries in an effort to locate the driver. Inspector Greg McLaughlan issued a plea, stating: “Despite the time, there were people and vehicles in the area, and we are keen to speak to any potential witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers. “I would also take the opportunity to appeal directly to the driver involved to do the right thing. Please come forward, identify yourself and speak to us.” Post navigation Two Men Hospitalized Following Three-Vehicle Collision Man Identified Following Fatal Cycling Incident in North Belfast
