A railway operator has issued a warning regarding “significant disruption” expected across many of its primary routes this Sunday, attributing the issue to “crew availability”. Great Western Railway (GWR), through a social media announcement, recommended that travelers refrain from journeys “unless absolutely necessary”. The company also specifically suggested that individuals planning to visit the Bath Christmas market explore alternative transportation methods, given the potential for additional delays and cancellations throughout the day. Services operating between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads, as well as routes extending further, are anticipated to experience severe impact, with local services within Bristol also facing disruption. GWR stated in its announcement that “fewer trains will run and they will be extremely busy”. Furthermore, GWR confirmed that all tickets purchased for Sunday travel would be honored on Monday, December 16. Customers who opt not to utilize their tickets are eligible for a complete refund directly from GWR.
