Cardiff City secured a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, a result that moved them out of the Championship’s relegation zone. The team, known as the Bluebirds, faces an important match on Wednesday, presenting an opportunity to increase their distance from the bottom three clubs. Queens Park Rangers (QPR) will visit the Welsh capital occupying the last position in the league standings, having achieved only one victory throughout the current season. Despite their struggle for wins, QPR has frequently drawn matches, sharing a league record with Luton Town for the highest number of draws this season, with eight. However, Cardiff manager Omer Riza stated: “We’re just looking at ourselves, it’s so early in the season still and there are so many points to play for.“Obviously the teams that are in and around you, it’s important that you get those points, which we did against Plymouth and Portsmouth.”” He continued, regarding the previous match: “If we had won [on Saturday] we would have been on level points with Sheffield Wednesday, it wasn’t to be, but we go into Wednesday now with a not bad performance, a resilient performance, and hopefully go and try and get three points.” When questioned about Cardiff’s focus being on moving up or down the league table, Riza responded: “We’re in a position now where if we win games we move up pretty quickly and that’s what we’re looking at.” He added: “Obviously if you lose games you stay where you are, so hopefully we get through to January in a stable position and then we can kick on from there.” Post navigation Bristol Rovers’ FA Cup Victory Reflects Absent Manager Taylor’s Spirit, Says Coach Horseman Wrexham’s Burton Poised for League Return After 18-Month Hiatus, Brings Experience
