Nine community groups in Sussex are set to receive £33,000 each from their local council. Mid Sussex District Council announced that these funds would be drawn from the council’s Community Grants budget, following the successful compliance of all nine organizations with the new criteria established last year. To qualify, each group was required to demonstrate how their projects would contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, enhance the well-being of residents throughout the district, provide evidence of the benefits they would deliver, and address challenges such as the cost-of-living crisis. Councillor Anne-Marie Cooke stated: “Each and every one of these organisations and charities does so much to benefit our local communities.” This marks the second series of awards distributed by the council within the current financial year, following the allocation of over £31,000 to the community in July 2024. An additional £35,000 is scheduled for award in early 2025. The recipient groups are: Chichester Diocesan Association for Family Support Work, Crawley Down Ladies Choir, Ensemble Reza, Eastern Road Nature Reserve, IMPACT Foundation, Rites for Girls, South Coast Skate Club CIC, The Ukaholics and Time 4 Children. Ms Cooke further commented: “It was such a pleasure to learn about what these grants will enable them to achieve and I’m delighted that the council is able to give this money at a time when charities find it harder than ever to find funds for their vital work.” Post navigation Magdeburg Attack Fuels Far-Right Support Despite Suspect’s Prior AfD Endorsement French Government Nears Collapse Amidst Looming Political Instability
