A police officer, apprehended on suspicion of a terrorism offence, has been released on bail while further inquiries are conducted. The officer, who serves with Gloucestershire Police, was taken into custody on Tuesday by Counter Terrorism Policing South West. He has since been suspended from all duties by the police force. The suspicion against the officer involves providing online support for a proscribed organisation, an action contrary to Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
