Harlequins flanker Will Evans has signed a new contract with the Premiership club. Evans has made 97 appearances for Harlequins, including being part of the squad that secured the Premiership title in the 2020-21 season. Evans joins vice-captain Cadan Murley, scrum-half Will Porter, winger Cassius Cleaves, and full-back Tyrone Green in extending their commitments to the club. The 27-year-old Evans has accumulated 97 appearances and scored 15 tries in the famous quarters since his transfer from Leicester Tigers to Twickenham Stoop in 2019. In addition to his role in the 2020-21 Premiership championship squad, Evans was honored with three club player of the year awards during the previous season. Speaking to the club’s website, Evans stated, “On a personal level, last year was the best of my career and I knew I wanted to keep stepping forward with this badge on my chest.” He added, “We have a load of youngsters coming through, who’ll continue to push the club forward and hopefully we can create a lot more memories and ultimately lift more silverware.” This season, Evans has participated in every Premiership fixture for Quins, contributing three tries. The specific duration of Evans’s new agreement has not been disclosed by the club. Harlequins are scheduled to resume league play against Bristol Bears on Friday, 29 November.
