In 2024, Daniel Sams secured seven wickets across six T20 Blast matches while playing for Essex. The Notts Outlaws have announced the signing of Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams for the upcoming summer’s T20 Blast competition. The 32-year-old athlete previously played for Essex for the past three domestic seasons, accumulating over 2,000 runs and claiming 214 wickets in T20 cricket during that period. Sams participated in 10 T20 internationals from 2020 to 2022, with his latest appearance being against England in Perth, where he dismissed Harry Brook. “It was a priority for us to bring in an experienced overseas player who can contribute with bat and ball,” said Notts head coach Peter Moores. “Adding Dan to the group is a great start in building a team that will entertain our supporters and win us games in the season ahead.” As a left-arm paceman, Sams is no stranger to the Nottingham area, having previously represented Trent Rockets in The Hundred during both 2022 and 2023. “I really enjoyed my time at Trent Bridge for The Hundred, so it’s really cool I’ll be returning for the Blast with Notts,” he said. Notts is scheduled to face the Birmingham Bears in their inaugural T20 Blast match on 30 May 2025.
