Patients and visitors will be required to wear face masks in specific areas of Lincolnshire hospitals following an increase in cases of Covid-19, flu, and RSV. Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust stated they are reintroducing face coverings in response to a rise in illnesses across the county’s hospital and community settings. These measures will be enforced in emergency departments, urgent treatment centres, and admission areas. Unless medically exempt, patients and visitors will need to wear hospital-provided type two R surgical face masks starting from 13 December. The trusts also urged individuals visiting hospitals to regularly wash their hands, use hand gel, and to avoid visiting if they have been feeling unwell.
