A murder investigation has been initiated by police, accompanied by three arrests, subsequent to the demise of a man in Northampton. Officers from Northamptonshire Police responded to a call at Flaxwell Court, situated in the Little Billing area of the town, at approximately 17.40 GMT on Wednesday. This response followed reports of a man in his 20s having sustained a serious assault. The individual passed away a short time later in hospital. Police have apprehended three men, aged 22, 23, and 25, on suspicion of murder in relation to their inquiry. Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell stated: “I would like to offer our reassurance that we have a team of dedicated officers working at pace to establish what has happened.” The deceased man’s next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specially trained officers. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted at Leicester Royal Infirmary at a later time to determine the cause of death. Det Ch Insp Campbell further remarked: “This is a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life, and our thoughts are firmly with his family at this time.” Despite the swift arrests, authorities are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this event or possesses information and has not yet come forward, to please do so. The three arrested men continue to be held in police custody.
