Elderly residents residing in a care home recently experienced a pole dancing demonstration presented by a dance ensemble. Parkfield Grange in Stourbridge served as the venue for the masterclass, conducted by Pole Finesse of Bromsgrove, on Wednesday 4 December. A total of thirty attendees, including residents, their family members, and staff, observed what was described as a “celebration of dance” and reported being “wowed” by the team’s athleticism. An 85-year-old resident described the performance as “fabulous” and expressed her admiration for the dancers’ skill set. Emily Hocking, a home admissions adviser at Parkfield, indicated that the session materialized after residents inquired about her activities during her leisure time. She informed BBC Radio WM: “Residents always want to know what staff do in their downtime. “I’m part of the Pole Finesse group fitness session twice a week and they wanted to know more. “When we were looking at putting on a celebration of dance, our mother group Cinnamon Care, put on an initiative.”When we asked residents they all said absolutely yes.” Ms Hocking stated that 70% of the residents were present, and while family members initially harbored some uncertainty, “they soon enjoyed the performance.” Care home resident, Janet Garlick, remarked: “The performances were fabulous, I was very impressed with how skilful the girls were and how beautifully they performed.” Ms Hocking further added: “Pole dancing skills are incredibly impressive, and our residents were wowed by the athleticism of the team from Pole Finnesse.” Post navigation Former Recipient Donates to Food Bank That Aided His Family Essential Personnel Work on Christmas Day to Provide Key Services
