Sunderland’s young winger, Tommy Watson, is expected to be out of action for two months due to knee and ankle injuries. The 18-year-old has been a member of Regis Le Bris’ first-team squad throughout the current season and has started the last five matches, having also featured in 10 Championship games. Watson recently scored his initial two senior goals during the victory against Stoke City last Saturday. However, he was forced to leave the field in the first half of the midweek draw against Bristol City after sustaining an injury in a tackle involving Robins defender Luke McNally, which caused the teenager to limp off. Head coach Le Bris confirmed the recovery timeline to BBC Radio Newcastle, stating, “It should be two months for him to recover properly.” He further elaborated on the incident and injury severity: “It was a big impact, he could have scored. In the end, it is not a very strong injury but enough to be out of the pitch for two months.” Post navigation Rugby Writers Tom English and Andy Burke to Answer Reader Questions Seven Manchester City Players Nominated for Fifpro Team of the Year
