Two individuals have been taken into custody following a hit-and-run incident that resulted in a man being hospitalized. Avon and Somerset Police were dispatched to Bedminster Down Road in Bristol at approximately 11:30 GMT on Wednesday, after a collision occurred between a van and a pedestrian. A 31-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, vehicle theft, and failing to stop at the scene. Police further stated that the man was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle, possession of a knife, and possession of a suspected class A drug. The road, which had been closed earlier, has since been reopened. Authorities confirmed that the van involved had been reported stolen and has since been located. The pedestrian remains in hospital, though their injuries are not considered life-threatening, police added. Officers have appealed to witnesses to contact the police.
