Police have reported that a man is hospitalized in serious condition after sustaining a stab wound while attempting to assist a person who was the target of an attempted robbery. Law enforcement officers were dispatched to Marmion Road in Thorneywood, Nottinghamshire, following calls received around 18:25 GMT on Sunday, indicating that a teenager riding an e-scooter was being pursued by a group of young individuals. According to police, the man, who has a connection to the teenager, sustained a severe stab wound to his abdomen shortly after he intervened in the incident, which occurred on Beecham Avenue, a nearby street. The police force is requesting any available CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone, or dashcam footage, and is also encouraging any witnesses to come forward and contact them. Detectives are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door inquiries within the vicinity, as stated by the police. Additional patrols have also been stationed close to the incident site to offer reassurance to the public as the investigation progresses. Detective Inspector Paul Shortt, representing the force, commented: “We are treating this incident with the utmost seriousness as it has left a man in hospital with serious injuries.” He further stated: “Officers are following a number of lines of inquiry and members of the public can expect to see a police presence in the area during the rest of the day.” Shortt added: “We believe there were a number of witnesses to the incident and we want to take their accounts of what happened.”
