Law enforcement officials have announced the extension of a dispersal order in a Nottinghamshire town, initially implemented due to reported instances of antisocial behavior and violence. This directive, first established in Kimberley, was effective from 16:00 GMT on Thursday through midnight on Friday, but its duration has now been prolonged until midnight on Sunday. According to Nottinghamshire Police, the decision comes in response to accounts of antisocial behavior, criminal damage, and violent incidents occurring in the Main Street vicinity of the town over the preceding two-week period. The police force also noted that no problems were reported during Thursday night. This directive grants police officers enhanced authority to direct individuals to leave an area if there is a suspicion they might cause a disturbance, encompassing Main Street, Newdigate Street, Noel Street, Broomhill Road, Greens Lane, Regent Street, James Street, Chapter Drive, and High Street. Neighbourhood officer Simon Boyles stated: “We are continuing to take this antisocial behaviour seriously and we will be authorising further dispersal orders to protect our communities if we feel this is necessary.” Additionally, several dispersal orders were implemented in various areas of Nottingham during the previous week, attributed to antisocial behavior involving fireworks.
