A man has been incarcerated for 32 months subsequent to “savage” assaults on two women, one of which involved strangling a victim until she was unable to breathe, and another incident where he bit a man’s ear. Fabio Marzano assaulted the first woman at her residence in the Eastfield area of Peterborough on 7 February last year. An argument occurred inside the property, after which the 27-year-old punched the woman in the face and commenced strangling her. He then attacked concerned neighbours who had heard the disturbance. Marzano, residing at Sallowbush Road, Huntingdon, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker. He received his sentence at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday. Cambridgeshire Police stated that Marzano had also initiated an assault on a man, whom he headbutted multiple times and pulled to the floor. He then jumped on top of him, biting his ear. When law enforcement personnel arrived, Marzano became aggressive and kicked one of the officers, as was heard in court. He was apprehended and transported to Thorpe Wood Police Station, where he kicked another officer. On 6 March this year, while released on court bail, Marzano visited another woman’s property in Westwood, Peterborough. After being requested to leave, Marzano refused and assaulted the woman. He repeatedly headbutted her, causing her to fall to the ground. The victim sustained a substantial swelling to her eye socket, a laceration to her chin and the back of her head, and exhibited significant bruising. DC Igor Simonov stated: “Marzano is a persistently violent individual who clearly thinks nothing of launching savage attacks on innocent people. Our streets are safer with him behind bars.” Information regarding Peterborough news is available on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram, and X. Copyright 2024 BBC. All rights reserved.
