Torquay United maintained its unbeaten home record this season, thanks to a late headed goal from Jay Foulston. Following the 1-1 draw against Maidstone United in National League South, Torquay United manager Paul Wotton stated that his squad requires improvement. Charlie Seaman opened the scoring for Maidstone, finding the net with a well-placed strike six minutes prior to half-time. Jay Foulston then leveled the score, heading in a free-kick delivered by Omar Mussa with just four minutes remaining, securing a point for his side. This result propelled “the Gulls” to fourth position in the league standings. They now sit four points adrift of leaders Weston-super-Mare and one point behind both Truro City and Eastbourne Borough, who occupy second and third places, respectively. Post-match, Wotton commented: “We’ve got to be better. I’m really happy we didn’t lose but even at the end there we score and then we go backwards. I’ve had a good chat in there – there’s things that I expect from a team that I’m not sure I saw tonight. It’s a point gained definitely, Maidstone are a good team. I just thought we were off it.” Post navigation Aberdeen Manager Jimmy Thelin Discusses 3-3 Draw Against Hibs Dundee United’s Sevelj Attributes Strong Start to Team’s Dedication
