Ilias Chair, who has participated in half of QPR’s 14 Championship matches this season, is confirmed to be unavailable for the club’s Championship fixture against Leeds on Saturday. The forward exited the field early in the second half during QPR’s 4-1 home loss to Middlesbrough on Tuesday. QPR manager Marti Cifuentes stated at a pre-match press conference, “He was not very good after the game, he had a lot of pain in his knee.” Cifuentes added, “He went for some tests and we will know more after that.” Cifuentes expressed optimism about the imminent return of several injured players, including Kenneth Paal, Morgan Fox, and Michael Frey. “We know Paal, Fox and Frey are in the last part of their recovery, we will see if they manage to be available for this game or after the international break,” Cifuentes further commented. Regarding Harrison Ashby, Cifuentes noted, “Harrison Ashby had some tightness in his hamstring but could play against Leeds.” QPR has not secured a league victory in their last 10 matches, suffering five defeats during this period; however, the head coach remains confident in their ability to achieve a positive result from their upcoming visit to Elland Road. The Spanish manager remarked, “We cannot choose the schedule, we know it is going to be tough but it’s 11 against 11 and I’m very competitive.” He continued, “If I wasn’t confident then I shouldn’t be here, I believe in my players and of course we know we are in a difficult situation but the next opportunity is the best one to turn the dynamic.” Post navigation Plymouth Argyle’s Rooney Confirms Whittaker Staying Amidst Squad Reinforcement Plans Arsenal’s Champions League Prospects Assessed
