Emergency services personnel have been addressing a substantial fire at a dwelling located in East Sussex. The East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) received an alert at 11:28 GMT on Thursday concerning a fire within a domestic garage situated in Green Ridge, Brighton. During the peak intensity of the incident, eight fire engines along with an aerial platform were deployed to the location. Members of the public were advised to steer clear of the vicinity as emergency responders managed the fire. According to the fire service, all individuals were accounted for, and no injuries were reported. It is understood that six vehicles were present inside the garage, which is attached to a residential house. The fire service indicated that the property sustained “substantially damaged” and that its roof had partially given way. By 15:20, the emergency operation was in the process of being scaled back, with crews conducting checks for “hotspots” to guarantee the fire’s complete extinguishment.
