Police investigation continues following discovery of human remains

Police investigations are ongoing subsequent to the finding of human remains in a field located on the outskirts of Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police responded to a call in Lyde Green shortly before midday on Wednesday 6 November. The force has stated it is not aware of any suspicious circumstances, and a forensic post-mortem examination is being conducted to ascertain the cause of death. A police spokesperson commented: “While the circumstances remain unexplained pending those results, we’d like to reassure the public we are not aware of there being anything suspicious at this time.” “Forensic work to identify the remains is ongoing and is expected to take at least several days to be completed,” the spokesperson clarified. “A police cordon was put in place last week but was stood down on Friday, although some work is still being carried out in the area by our specialist search team.”
