An alert has been issued to businesses regarding the circulation of counterfeit currency in the Ross-on-Wye area. According to West Mercia Police, a group has been employing forged Scottish £20 and £50 notes to acquire low-value goods. Retailers are advised to verify the authenticity of banknotes by scratching them with a pen lid or a sharp nail, as the ink on fraudulent notes is prone to smudging or coming off. PC Daryl Kift stated that the individuals involved were “maximising the change they got in return when using the fake notes.” Post navigation Cyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision Metropolitan Police and Royal Parks Issue New Year’s Eve Guidance for Primrose Hill
