Thousands of Illegal Vapes and Tobacco Products Seized in Norfolk

Thousands of allegedly illicit vaping devices and tobacco items have been confiscated from four locations within a Norfolk town. Breckland Police collaborated with Trading Standards personnel and licensing departments during a coordinated operation conducted in Thetford on Wednesday. A Trading Standards detection dog named Jack aided officers during the searches to locate the products. This action comes amid an increase in reports of illegal vaping products at both local and national levels, alongside persistent worries regarding their effects on youth. Law enforcement officials stated that unlawfully manufactured vapes and electronic cigarettes might contain impurities, elevated nicotine concentrations, and prohibited substances, posing potential hazards to consumers. To safeguard themselves, consumers should verify that the nicotine content of their vaping device does not exceed the legal threshold of 20mg/ml or 2%. Any suspected instances of unsafe product sales ought to be reported to Trading Standards through Citizens Advice.
