Keith Saunders has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for burgling a woman’s residence and subsequently publishing sexual images of her on Facebook. Saunders, 36, of Cannon Street, Lincoln, spray-painted derogatory messages on the walls of the woman’s home and took several items on 5 February 2023. The Lincoln Crown Court heard that on the same date, he uploaded sexual images of the woman to Facebook. Saunders pleaded guilty to charges of burglary, disclosing sexual images, and sending malicious communications, which occurred over a 10-month period. The victim stated she was compelled to relocate because she no longer felt secure. The court was informed that Saunders ransacked the property while the woman was absent, stealing her television, perfume, mobile phone, and bank card. Prosecutor Noel Philo informed the court that insults were also spray-painted on the walls. Saunders also confessed to sending the woman a barrage of threatening messages between February and December 2023. These threats included causing further criminal damage and the use of a shotgun, as revealed in court. Tom Heath, representing Saunders, stated that the burglary and sexual image offences occurred when Saunders was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. During sentencing, Recorder Graham Huston described Saunders as “a very cruel and vindictive man”. He received a sentence of 30 months and two weeks in jail. Additionally, a restraining order was issued, prohibiting him from any contact with his victim.
